2010.... and according to the norms of WTO, Nepal must open up its economy fully. Foreign Direct Investment upto 100 PERCENT allowed. Now, this could lead to a better Nepal .... as it happened in India after India opened up.... in 1991 I think... yeah... after socialism came out of picture and foreign investments were allowed. Nepal has a booming Banking scene (thats what the picture looks till now).... what will happen to this after globalisation hits nepal?

Will this lead to a better or a worse?

2010 is going to be a landmark year for Nepal, ain't it? By the way China is also a member of WTo isn't it...has China opened its markets fully or how is it operating ??? Any ideas?? I think Foreign Direct Investment is going to do more good than bad cause we don't have anything to be proud of or to loose right now....No any industry , no any sector to be proud of at all....retgarding the banking sector I think our banks will amalgamate together to form a larger bank so as to survive in the competition or they are going to perish....no one can do anything about that....

China is communist only by name. It is a complete free-trade-capitalist economy.

Yeah, once the nation opens up completely we will have many investments. I look forward to it though it will mean poor competition for Nepal.... because an investment made once can be used forever. Hope big investments are made in Hydropower and stuff.

I wish with all my heart that may Nepal be able to produce more than 10000 Megawatt of electricity either by itself or with foreign direct investment in my lifetime....I am strogly in favour of FDI...I am so surprised when people say FDI is going to exploit our natural resources...so what? It is better that foreigners exploit our resources with their money and give us a small share of it than not using any resource at all...

my word would sound really offensive but the globlisation things that is talked here all just bullshit and I am not doing to discuss not until our country would be able to compete freely in WTO.

i dont agree with full free trade or globalisation....globalisation should be followed by localisation... only free trade cannot uplift a country unless local people are involved and over exploiting resources can also be checked by localisation process
