Nepalese have poor reading habit?

Nepalese in general are very poor when it comes to reading habit.Agree or Disagree?? If so what suggestions do you have for encouraging reading habit among Nepalese people? And does reading habit of the citizens of a country affect its overall development? Lets discuss/debate!

I don't agree with this entirely . If you look at the number of book exhibitions happening every year and the amount of increasing turn out it has each year shows that reading culture here in Nepal is growing by the numbers. WE now have so many active readers club, book discusssion club and the fact tht u've started this very topic shows that people are interested in reading boooks not only just their text books.

Reading culture yes is not so big everywhere but it's slowly catchin up.....

Actually the reading culture is starting to flourish but some times ago it was hard enough to find anyone reading besides newspapers. Cetainly the reading habit would give light even holds the responsibility to change the society or the whole world.

Agree but I am not in the one who is poor to read. Neplease cant afford international book and Nepali books are not worthy of time. I dont mean all books are crap but most of the books are crap.

For the suggestions
* The curriculum of students should be more practical and more research based due to which they would have ample amount of time to read books of their subjects.
* Various virtual or real debate forums have to be created due to which one has to read or go through various books in order to put their points.

Utimately the reading culture blossoms.
