A training program from Returned UN Volunteers’ Association of Nepal

After the completion of first Orientation Training for Potential Volunteers, RUNVAN is overwhelmingly successful with plenty of more demands to the next training batches. In this regard RUNVAN has decided to run another training program scheduled from 23 Dec-25 Dec ‘07.

Structure:

· This is a three-day training program requiring full time participation of all participants

· The orientation training program will focus on introduction to volunteerism and motivating participants to become a Volunteer.

· English and Nepali languages will be used in the discussion.

Target Group:

This program is highly recommended to Nepalese citizens having qualification at least +2 or equivalent. The maximum size of the class will be of 20 participants.

Objectives:

The main objective of the orientation training program is to prepare and produce competent volunteers by imparting knowledge and skills to the participants mainly on how to become a volunteer.

Knowledge/skills:

· Introduction to volunteerism, code of conduct, Do’s and Don’ts

· Historical background of Volunteerism, existing policies, rules and regulations of volunteerism in Nepal

· Role and contribution of voluntary services and information about the voluntary organizations (national and international) working in Nepal

· Basic skills required to prepare curriculum vitae and covering letters

· Self satisfaction: A key motivator

Methods:

Various training/workshop methods and training aids will be used to accomplish the program objectives.

Evaluation: The participants themselves will evaluate the program

Certification: RUNVAN will award certificate of participation



Time and Date: The program will be conducted from 10:45 am to 16:00 pm. The program will be organized from Dec 23 to 25 Dec, 2007

Venue: RUNVAN Hall

Training Fee: The program fee is Rs. 2000 per participant for individual and Rs. 3000 per participant for institutional participants that will cover all costs including tea and snacks
