Call for Research Proposals
As in previous years, Martin Chautari (MC) is implementing a research fellowship program on the media in Nepal . Independent researchers are asked to submit their proposals. Up to six fellowships of NRs. 50,000 each will be awarded in 2009. The research and writing will have to be completed within a six-month period ending on 15 February 2010 [3 Fagun 2066 VS].
1. Only those independent researchers who can demonstrate prior research experience are eligible to apply.
2. The research proposal has to be comprehensive. It will have to be at least 8 pages long including bibliography. The proposal should contextualize the research objectives in light of the available literature, discuss the methods and sources that will be used during the course of research and provide a plan for its execution.
3. The applicant should submit his/her bio-data and other supporting materials requested in the proposal guidelines which are available at the office of Martin Chautari and in the internet at www.martinchautari. org.np as well.
Three copies of all the proposal items should reach the office of Martin Chautari or its mailing address GPO Box 13470, Kathmandu by 31 July 2009 (16 Saun 2066 VS). Applications will not be accepted by email or fax. Incomplete and late applications will not be considered. The applications will be read by a selection committee formed by Martin Chautari. Its decision will be final.
